For the spring/summer season 2021, Calida is launching the first totally compostable underwear collection on the market to celebrate its 80th birthday. To mark this prestigious occasion, iconic material qualities and styles from the Calida archives are for the first time being updated and transferred to 100 percent compostable, Cradle to Cradle-certified materials, details of which can be found in a press release. This is the third collection produced in conjunction with the luxury Dutch fashion brand Viktor&Rolf.

The new Calida ladies’ collection of premium underwear and nightwear combines frilly details and floral vintage lace with “cool, casual styles”. Bustiers and high-waisted panties are made of compostable full lace, described by the manufacturer as an “absolute material innovation”.

In contrast, the men’s range plays around with traditional ribbed materials to reinterpret the dandy look. Prints are used to reflect traditional Calida designs, which at the same time are also typical for Viktor&Rolf.

The new spring/summer 2021 collection will be available online, in selected Calida stores and in specialist retailers from April 12.
