Construction machinery trade fair Baumag to take place in Lucerne

Lucerne - The 21st edition of Baumag, the Swiss trade fair for construction machinery, construction equipment and tools, will take place next year from January 13-16 in Lucerne. With an obligation to present vaccination certificates, guests will be able to visit the trade fair without having to wear a mask.

Professionals from the main and ancillary construction trades will be descending on Lucerne for the 21st Baumag construction machinery trade fair, which will take place between January 13 and 16, 2022. Next year, it will be the only specialist trade fair for this sector to be held in Switzerland, according to a press release.

After a break lasting three years, bookings for exhibition spaces have been flooding in. “This shows that Baumag is an important Swiss presentation platform for the industry”, explains trade fair director Andreas Hauenstein in the press release.

The exhibitor Baukader Schweiz looks set to dominate the majority of the program. The construction industry management organization has arranged a keynote speech on every day of the trade fair. These will cover topics such as machine control, sustainability, safety and ecology. The presentations will also include practical sections too.

Visitors will be expecting a “well-functioning trade fair operation in a familiar environment”. Wearing masks will not be required thanks to an obligation for visitors to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19. There will be no restrictions on hospitality offerings, while exhibitors will also be able to serve visitors at their stands.

Usually, the trade fair takes place every other year. This year, the already fully booked Baumag was called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.
