FCE Group now collaborating with South Pole

Root LU / FCE Group from Lucerne is now collaborating with South Pole. The Zurich-based climate protection service provider’s solution for calculating a carbon footprint will be integrated into the TransparenTerra platform operated by FCE.

FCE Group AG with headquarters at the Technopark Luzern is incorporating an interface into the TransparenTerra platform it operates for linking to the services of Zurich-based company South Pole. According to a press release, this means that South Pole’s carbon footprint calculation can also be performed on the TransparenTerra platform.

The press release states that climate change is becoming increasingly acute and many obstacles stand in the way of environmentally friendly business strategies. Only technological solutions can ease this path. To this end, the TransparenTerra platform gathers technological solutions for climate action. It has started using South Pole’s solution, which enables carbon footprint calculation for companies and individuals. Integrating this into the TransparenTerra platform makes it possible to immediately compensate for carbon footprints.

According to the press release, South Pole works across sectors to decarbonize and evaluate climate risks and opportunities for businesses, governments, and organizations. It develops complete emission-reduction projects, strategies, and solutions, including tools to calculate greenhouse gas emissions.

Combining the solutions from South Pole and FCE Group is intended to transform TransparenTerra into a uniform platform where measurements and data on the environment, social issues, and corporate management (ESG) can be collected, verified, and analyzed. FCE will send data on offset certificate purchases to the blockchain to prevent greenwashing and fraud and to enable investors to assess companies’ ESG compliance claims.
