GWF MessSysteme wins innovation award
Lucerne - GWF MessSysteme AG has won the Innovation Award 2021 of the Central Switzerland Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This prize honors in particular the Lucerne-based company’s Sonico water meter. Geistlich Pharma from Wolhusen and Bug Bounty from Lucerne were also each awarded a recognition prize.
The Sonico flow meter, which is based on ultrasound technology, impressed the jury of the IHZ (Central Switzerland Chamber of Commerce and Industry) Innovation Award 2021, further details of which can be found in a press release. The IHZ selected the Lucerne-based manufacturer of the product, GWF MessSysteme, as the winner of this year’s award. The device can be used for potable and waste water measurements as well as for industrial applications, among other aspects.
“The patent-protected proprietary development of the 4D technology offers immense future potential and will allow the company to tap into further fields of innovation, especially in the area of wireless signal transmission”, comments Hans Wicki, Jury President, in the press release.
GWF MessSysteme developed the device in cooperation with universities, manufactures it in Lucerne and sells it worldwide. Founded way back in 1899, the company relies on extremely fast data processing, high-level measurement precision and sustainability in the selection of materials. “We are delighted to receive the IHZ award in addition to representing the innovative strength of Central Switzerland with our product”, says Florian Strasser, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GWF MessSysteme.
Geistlich Pharma from Wolhusen in the canton of Lucerne and Bug Bounty Switzerland from the city of Lucerne were each awarded a recognition prize. For the former, the award serves to acknowledge the Geistlich Derma-Gide, a medical product that helps to combat painful foot ulcers in diabetes patients, while the award for Bug Bounty Switzerland pays tribute to the company’s IT security solutions, in which legally active hackers hunt down security loopholes.
