HammerDrum wins *zünder award 2022

Horw/Sursee - HammerDrum has won this year’s competition from the *zünder funding program. The startup from Sursee is developing an efficient drilling technology for geothermal projects. The prize money for the *zünder award amounts to 15,000 Swiss francs.

According to a press release from ITZ InnovationsTransfer Zentralschweiz and the *zünder startup support program based in central Switzerland, HammerDrum has won this year’s *zünder award. The startup from Sursee in the canton of Lucerne specializes in developing efficient percussion drilling technology for deep drilling in geothermal projects. It was selected as the winner out of seven competitors in the final. The award, which is linked to prize money of 15,000 Swiss francs, was presented in Emmenbrücke at *zünder inspirience day on November 11.

The organizers explain in the press release that the jury’s choice was made difficult by the high quality of the finalists. The startups had all passed through this year’s startup training program, zünder accelerator. Christoph Lang, Managing Director of ITZ and member of the jury, commented in the press release: “All seven startups showed huge potential. This can be assessed as an excellent result from the *zünder accelerator.”

HammerDrum plans to use the prize money for its next prototype and to fund further testing. Co-Founder Oliver Rau stated in the press release: “For us, the *zünder award is a huge honor and confirmation that we are on the right track.”
