Hirslanden Klinik St. Anna being renewed

Lucerne – Hirslanden Klinik St. Anna is investing over 100 million Swiss francs in renewing its site in Lucerne. Construction work is set to commence in March. The investment will also enable new services with special room requirements to be offered.

Hirslanden Klinik St. Anna in Lucerne will begin to renew its infrastructure in March. This has been announced in a press release from the hospital on LinkedIn. It will initially work on the extension tract G, the site which is currently the courtyard between the multistorey car park and the hospital. The new building will be home to the Institute for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.

From 2023, the second stage will involve replacing two parts of the current building that are in some areas as old as the hospital itself. These sections will be replaced by a new tract A+, which will be the centerpiece of the hospital in future.

The construction project is expected to be concluded in 2027. According to an article in the Luzerner Zeitung newspaper, Hirslanden is investing more than 100 million francs in the renewal.

“With this construction project, we are building a bridge into the future,” said Hospital Director Martin Nufer in the Luzerner Zeitung article. The investment will also enable gaps in the services offered to be closed. “In oncology, for example, the rebuilding will allow us to offer radiotherapy, as this needs special equipment and rooms. We simply did not have the space for this in the existing building,” said Nufer.

The Hirslanden Klinik St. Anna Lucerne was founded by the community of the Sisters of St. Anna in 1911 and has been part of the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group since 2005.
