Lucerne invites tenders for commercial use building plot in Ibach

Lucerne - The city of Lucerne is seeking to hand over a 5,600 square meter plot of land with development rights in the urban development area of Ibach. The aim here is to enable bring trade and industrial enterprises to the area and increase the city’s appeal as a business location.

The city of Lucerne has invited tenders for a plot of land covering 5,600 square meters that has been designated for commercial use in the Ibach industrial and commercial area. It is located above the south bank of the River Reuss in the cantonal development focus area Smart City Luzern Nord. A new city center is being built here around Seetalplatz. According to a press release, this area also stands to benefit from its proximity to the freeway. Numerous industrial and commercial companies are located in the Ibach area, including recycling and disposal companies, construction and logistics firms, a business center, the municipal workshop and other companies.

With the sale of this commercial space with development rights, Lucerne is seeking to increase its appeal as a business location. A volume study commissioned by the city shows that more than 10,000 square meters of floor space could be created there.

With publication in the Luzerner Kantonsblatt, the official cantonal journal, on November 5, 2022, interested parties are invited to submit an offer for the land lease interest and development concept that explains the project in a comprehensible manner. The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2023.
