RUAG presents test device for self-protection systems

Emmen - RUAG is showcasing its new missim MK3 test device at the Singapore Airshow. The multifunctional sensor tester developed in the canton of Lucerne checks the functionality of self-protection systems for flights during military operations and humanitarian deployments in conflict zones.

RUAG is showcasing a new test device at the Singapore Airshow from February 15-18. This device, known as the missim MK3, is able to check all sensors used in self-protection systems in helicopters and flight systems. According to information from the company itself, the device is used by crews as well as by manufacturers of flight and self-protection systems. It is intended to improve operational safety.

According to RUAG, the handy 4-in-1 test device is compatible with most self-protection systems and platforms. It provides pilots with a fast, reliable Go/No-Go result from the sensors for the flight.

In addition, the missim MK3 simulates up to four threat scenarios: radar, laser, guided missiles and hostile fire. Moreover, individual tests taking into account generic or specific scenarios are possible. These can then be deleted within seconds where necessary.

RUAG is primarily active in the aerospace, defense and security markets. It manufactures satellite and launch structures, separation mechanisms, electronics for launch systems and satellites as well as communication systems and instruments.
