31DAYS Corporate Challenge encourages Lucerne companies to embrace sustainable mobility
Lucerne - With the 31DAYS Corporate Challenge, companies in the Canton of Lucerne can engage their employees in sustainable mobility – free of charge and without administrative effort. The initiative combines climate goals with health promotion and team spirit.
The national 31DAYS Challenge is entering its next round with a dedicated focus on businesses. Participants leave their cars at home for 31 days and test alternative mobility options such as public transport, e-bikes and car sharing. More than 1,000 people in the Canton of Lucerne are currently taking part.
Companies can create their own 31DAYS corporate page, allowing employees to join easily. Participants benefit from a mobility package provided by partners SBB, Mobility and PubliBike.
For companies, participation offers several advantages: encouraging more sustainable commuting habits, making a measurable contribution to reducing indirect emissions (Scope 3), and supporting employee wellbeing while strengthening team spirit. The first Lucerne-based companies are already featured on the national leaderboard.
The initiative is supported locally by Canton of Lucerne and City of Lucerne. The programme is organised by 42hacks Cooperative and aims to inspire around 10,000 people across Switzerland to adopt more sustainable mobility in 2026.
The Corporate Challenge demonstrates how climate action can be integrated into everyday business operations with minimal effort – an increasingly relevant topic for the Lucerne business region.
