Albert Koechlin Foundation presents environmental award to Stadtblüte and ERDIG
Lucerne/Meggen - The Albert Koechlin Foundation has bestowed the 2026 environmental award on Stadtblüte and ERDIG Living Soils AG. Each company will receive 40,000 Swiss francs for their commitment to biodiversity and soil improvement.
The Lucerne-based Albert Koechlin Foundation has presented its 2026 environmental award to Stadtblüte from Lucerne and ERDIG Living Soils AG from Meggen in the canton of Lucerne. Both winners have been honored for their contribution to sustainable production methods and closed-loop systems.
Stadtblüte was founded four years ago by gardener and landscape architect Barbara Lantschner. The company produces pesticide-free, locally grown and carbon-neutral cut flowers, utilizing inner-city areas that are thereby transformed into biodiverse plantings.
Through ERDIG, Alain Huber is developing approaches for regenerative agriculture. These include microbially enriched compost extracts and machines that combine multiple work steps in a single pass, thereby reducing soil compaction.
The environmental award has been presented annually since 2005 and is being bestowed for the 21st time in 2026. It honors projects by individuals, groups or organizations in the fields of nature, the environment and habitat.
The award ceremony will take place at the Kulturhof Hinter Musegg in Lucerne on 12 June 2026.
