Albert Koechlin Foundation promotes social cohesion

Lucerne - The Albert Koechlin Foundation has selected six projects that it will support for three years with its piiik funding program. This fosters innovative ideas from Central Switzerland that hold societal cohesion as their aim.

The Albert Koechlin Foundation based in Lucerne has selected six eligible projects that aim to strengthen societal cohesion as part of an invitation to tender. It will support these projects for three years with a total of 770,000 Swiss francs.

In an initial phase, 16 teams out of 47 submitted draft projects were invited to prepare a detailed project description at the end of 2021. Each team received support of 3,000 Swiss francs for this. These 16 project descriptions were subsequently examined by a specialist jury.

Six of these projects will now receive support according to a press release. One such company is energy seniors, which provides years of experience helping the elderly with energy and the climate to the population at large. Under the title “Perlen der Zeit” [Pearls of Time], the Theater Pedagogy Center of the Pädagogische Hochschule Luzern [University of Teacher Education Lucerne] is promoting intergenerational interaction. The Bistro Interculturel and the Verein Spuntan clubs, both located in Stans in the canton of Nidwalden, are establishing an accessible, participation-based community center called “Die Bunte Spunte”.

The “Die Sphäre” project [The Sphere] is dedicated to networking, the exchange of knowledge, and regional development in the Lucerne region. The “Lieferdienst Stadt und Agglomeration Luzern” [Delivery Service for the City and Metropolitan Area of Lucerne] project from the Wärchbrogg club, and IG Arbeit on the topic of work integration are also located in this area. Lastly, Neubad in Lucerne and the Rodtegg Foundation are both working on promoting cultural inclusion.

Project Lead Anna Balbi states that they showed “how different the planned work is for the submitted projects” She adds: “We are delighted to continue to support the initiators.”
