Emmen LU - ALSO Holding AG acquires Bulgarian IT distributor Solytron Bulgaria. The Lucerne-based IT logistics provider wants to further expand its Eastern European business.

Gustavo Möller-Hergt, CEO of ALSO Holding AG, says in the press release: “Solytron Bulgaria with a market share of over 30 per cent and continuous growth for the past six years is one of the largest and most successful distributors in Bulgaria”. Möller-Hergt also points out that the company provides not only hard- and software but also first-rate service competence. The takeover of Solytron thereby underpins at the same time ASLO’s claim “to become the leading full service provider to the channel across Europe”, explains the CEO.

The press release continues: “with its robust growth Bulgaria is well on the way to further reducing economic disparity between it and the other EU member-states”. In the opinion of the Lucerne IT company, new technologies are indispensable. ALSO therefore wants to participate more fully in this growth market via the takeover of Solytron. On completion of the acquisition of Solytron ALSO will also be represented in nearly all East European markets except Russia. In the press release their joint market volume in the IT sector is estimated to be around 30 billion euros.
