ALSO acquires trio of Eastern European firms

Emmen - The Lucerne-based technology firm ALSO has acquired the companies SWS and Entec in Czechia as well as SWS International based in Slovakia. With the acquisitions, ALSO will be represented across the region with all of its business models.

The technology provider ALSO from Emmen in the canton of Lucerne has agreed takeover deals for three companies in Eastern Europe. According to a press release, these are the IT ecosystem supplier SWS a.s. and the value added distributor Entec in Czechia, with ALSO rounding off its trio of acquisitions in the form of another IT ecosystem supplier, the Slovakia-based SWS International.

The takeovers must still be signed off by the relevant responsible authorities. Once this approval has been secured, however, ALSO will be represented with all of its business models in the region, the press release states.

«This strategic move will position us as a leader in a very strong market», as Gustavo Möller-Hergt, CEO of ALSO Holding AG, explains in the press release. According to ALSO, the Czech and Slovakian ICT industry was one of the largest and most dynamic in Eastern Europe, with end customer expenditure totaling more than 12 billion euros in 2021. Möller-Hergt sees significant opportunities for growth, particularly in the transactional and “as-a-service” areas. He also underlines that, with these acquisitions, ALSO is «enabling a broad transfer of knowledge within the region and beyond».
