ALSO records profitable growth

Emmen LU - In the first half of 2026, ALSO Holding AG generated sales growth of 21 percent. Operating earnings rose by 29 percent year on year to 162 million euros. For the full year, the Lucerne-based technology group expects to record a return on capital employed in excess of 20 percent.

ALSO Holding AG has reported total sales of 8.3 billion euros for the first half-year 2026, as detailed in a statement issued by the pan-European technology group based in Emmen in the Swiss canton of Lucerne. In comparison with the previous year, this equates to growth of 21 percent. Across the same period, the group, which specializes in the development of technologies used in the information and telecommunications industry, posted growth of 29 percent in relation to the operating result at the level of EBITDA, with this result rising to 162 million euros in the process. Net profit amounted to 69 million euros, reflecting an increase of 61 percent on the prior-year period.

ALSO attributes the positive developments to growing demand for computing capacity, increasing data volumes and the more widespread adoption of AI. In terms of growth drivers for sales, the statement cites the cloud business. In addition, ALSO highlights productivity improvements, efficiency gains and improved margins, as well as logistical optimizations. The return on capital employed (ROCE) improved by 1.2 percentage points to 13.0 percent in comparison with the previous year.

"Thanks to continuous innovation cycles, the IT industry offers attractive growth opportunities", comments Wolfgang Krainz, CEO of ALSO Holding AG, in the statement, before adding: "Our investments in our ecosystem, our platforms and operational excellence have created the foundation for scaling growth profitably and thereby generating sustainable value for our partners and shareholders". ALSO is striving to achieve an EBITDA of 300-340 million euros in addition to a ROCE of more than 20 percent for the full year 2026.
