Lucerne - The SHS Smarter Booster program provides start-ups with an opportunity to meet potential partners and investors during a trip to San Francisco. The winners of the program have now been named: Altoida from Lucerne and Neurosoft Bioelectronics from Geneva.
The SHS Smarter Booster Program was created by Swissnex San Francisco and Engagement Migros. The first edition of the program will be held in October, when two start-ups will travel to San Francisco for the purpose of meeting potential investors and partners.
The winners of this first trip are the start-ups Altoida and Neurosoft Bioelectronics, as detailed in a press release. Altoida is headquartered in Lucerne and is developing a platform for the early detection of patients at risk of contracting Alzheimer's. The platform is based on Virtual Reality (VR), whereby users can take a fine motor skills test with an integrated game of hide and seek via a tablet or smartphone. In so doing, relevant digital biomarkers are collated for Alzheimers. Doctors are then able to draw conclusions with regard to the potential threat from these results.
Neurosoft Bioelectronics is based in Geneva. The Company develops electrodes that can be implanted in the brain. In contrast to the neuronal implants available up to now, those offered by Neurosoft Bioelectronics are soft and elastic.
