ANDRITZ Hydro moving to the Schappe Center
Kriens - ANDRITZ Hydro is relocating its headquarters to the Schappe Center in Kriens in the canton of Lucerne. With this move, which is set to be completed by the end of 2026, the service provider for hydroelectric power plant construction projects is seeking to secure its options for further growth.
ANDRITZ Hydro is set to move into expanded headquarters, although the company will remain in Kriens. According to a press release, around 130 employees from the research and development, sales, project management and administration departments are to be relocated to the Schappe Center. This is situated in the vicinity of the restored former premises of Bell Maschinenfabrik, where the development of a new urban district is in the process of being realized.
By moving into the modern corporate center, ANDRITZ Hydro is seeking to secure options for further growth, according to the press release. The relocation of the management offices to the Schappe Center is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Earlier this year, the company also announced plans to relocate the service workshop from its headquarters in Kriens to the Buchrain industrial park, located around 10 kilometers to the north of Lucerne, by 2028. The company provides services such as electromechanical equipment and maintenance for both new and existing hydroelectric power plants around the world, ranging from small hydropower stations to large-scale facilities.
«This is a good solution for us», comments site manager Claudio Nold, adding that: «It allows us to continue to work and grow under optimal conditions». For Logis Suisse, the landowner of the Bell site, ANDRITZ Hydro’s decision to relocate its headquarters is a real win in terms of their efforts to develop the former industrial area into a new urban district.
