Axon Vibe receives major order from Deutsche Bahn

Lucerne - Axon Vibe has secured a major order from Deutsche Bahn. The German rail operator is seeking to improve the experience of passengers waiting for trains, via a special app produced by the software developer.

Axon Vibe, a company specializing in mobility software, has successfully secured a major order from Deutsche Bahn (DB). According to an article in the «Luzerner Zeitung» newspaper, the Lucerne-based company has developed a special app for DB that aims to improve the waiting experience of passengers during train delays. In the event of slight delays, app users will receive a digital voucher for station retail outlets. The app recognizes whether users are checked in for travel and affected by the delay. One participant in the project is pretzel bakery Ditsch, which is part of the Valora kiosk group. Customers can buy two pretzels at a reduced price if their train is delayed, and receive a free drink in the event of longer hold-ups.

DB and Axon Vibe hope that the service will make passengers more prepared to accept the rail operator’s apology. Other local participating retailers are aiming to attract customers via the new app, explains Roman Oberli, CEO of Axon Vibe, in the article.

The Lucerne company hopes to conclude similar contracts with SBB (Swiss Federal Railways).
