Bieri Tenta AG finalizes build of new warehousing facility
Grosswangen/Susten - Bieri Tenta AG, a company that specializes in technical textile solutions, has successfully completed the construction of a warehouse for Theler AG and BOWA Recycling AG at their Susten site. Moving forwards, the facility will enable efficient material management processes for recycling operations.
Bieri Tenta AG, a manufacturer of technical textile solutions based in Grosswangen in the Swiss canton of Lucerne, has announced the successful completion of a project to build a warehouse facility at a site in Susten in the canton of Valais. The client for this project was BOWA Recycling AG, which focuses on the recycling of contaminated soil materials and is a subsidiary of Theler AG based in Raron, also in the canton of Valais. According to the statement, the warehouse has been optimally designed to meet the requirements of a modern recycling operation and represents what is already the second project for which the two companies have joined forces. Back in 2019, Bieri realized a hall covering an area of 2,700 square meters for BOWA Recycling AG.
The Susten-based project involves a gable-roofed hall with a footprint of nearly 3,000 square meters. The warehouse is equipped with six Bieri roller doors (5 x 5 meters) and six emergency exit doors. These ensure that operations on site can proceed smoothly in addition to offering a high level of safety for daily operations. During the six-week assembly period, Bieri used a mobile crane to lift steel components weighing up to 13 tons into place. A membrane measuring 59 x 61 meters and weighing approximately 3.6 tons serves as the roof and covering of the hall. It is additionally possible to install a photovoltaic system on the membrane, giving customers the option of generating sustainable energy directly on site.
BOWA Recycling AG operates a soil washing plant in Leuk-Susten and a thermal treatment plant since 2024. According to the company, it achieves recycling rates of up to 99 percent for contaminated soil material.
