CAAA by Pietro Catalano has its first Michelin star

Lucerne - The Michelin Guide has awarded one star to CAAA by Pietro Catalano in Lucerne for the first time. Six other restaurants in the Swiss canton of Lucerne retained their star, while two still have two stars.

CAAA by Pietro Catalano has been awarded its first Michelin star, announced the Lucerne-based restaurant in a statement. CAAA by Pietro Catalano serves dishes inspired by the cuisine of the Italian region Calabria — a concept it describes as “Swiss seasons meet Calabrian memories”. In addition to the bar and kitchen services, the restaurant’s art, architecture, and hospitality are all key elements for the team led by Executive Chef Pietro Catalano.

“With CAAA, we’ve created a place where our ideas come together,” the owners are quoted as saying. “We call it Dineology: dining, mixology, sound, and design all come together to tell our story. We’ve put our whole hearts into this concept.”

According to an article in the newspaper “Luzerner Zeitung”, other Lucerne-based restaurants retained one Michelin star: de MATOS, Lucide, Maihöfli by UniQuisine, and Minamo, as well as Sonnenberg le soir in Kriens and Wiesner MysterionWiesner Zauber in Romoos. The focus Atelier in Vitznau and Colonnade in Lucerne even held onto their two stars.
