Calenso sets sights on international growth
Rothenburg - Through the merger with the US firm Jrni, Calenso has laid the groundwork for international growth. The Rothenburg-based start-up is now also active in the Anglo-Saxon market with its appointment scheduling solutions for companies with consulting-intensive business models.
For Calenso, a company based in Rothenburg in the Swiss canton of Lucerne, the merger with Jrni from Newton in the US State of Massachusetts last year heralded a new era. Calenso, which was founded in 2022 and is a specialist in appointment scheduling solutions for companies with consulting-intensive business models, is now part of a larger platform for all kinds of interactions between a company and its clients. The functions offered range from appointment scheduling and analytics to the management of telephone queues and events. Through Calenso, the German-speaking market is opened up to Jrni, while Calenso gained access to English-speaking countries.
Together, the partners are striving to create the «leading platform for in-person interactions». «International growth is our aim», states CEO Marvin Felder in an article published by the Swiss daily newspaper ‘Luzerner Zeitung’. «To do this alone would have required a great deal of capital, which is not so easily raised in Switzerland. Jrni shares our values, serves a similar customer segment and pursues the same vision. For these reasons, the share swap made sense for both parties».
Following the merger, the original owners of Calenso became shareholders in the group as a whole. «Of course, we initially had to get used to not making every decision on our own», as Felder explains in the article. «At the same time, we learned so much – in relation to financial reporting and how to further professionalize our organization, for example». With an estimated net worth of between 5 and 10 million Swiss francs, Felder is ranked by «Bilanz», the biweekly Swiss business magazine, among the wealthiest Swiss nationals under the age of 40.
The Calenso CEO describes a future IPO for the whole group as an «exciting next growth step». However, according to the information, there are no concrete plans in place for this at present.
