Calida records improved profitability

Oberkirch - The globally active Calida Group has managed to increase its operating profit despite declining sales in 2025. The focus of the group, which specializes in nightwear and underwear, remains on improving efficiency. To this end, group functions have been integrated into the brands.

The Calida Group generated total sales of 215.9 million Swiss francs in financial year 2025. Year on year, this equates to a currency-adjusted decline of -5.0 percent, as the textile manufacturer specializing in nightwear and underwear from Oberkirch in the Swiss canton of Lucerne writes in a statement. The reported operating result at the level of EBIT came to 9.0 million Swiss francs, while net operating profit amounted to 7.6 million Swiss francs. Both balance sheet items were therefore well up on the prior year. Including the profit from the sale of a building belonging to the LAFUMA MOBILIER brand, which was sold off in the previous year, the company’s profit amounted to 11.0 million Swiss francs.

“After a challenging first half of 2025, the CALIDA GROUP developed positively in the second half and achieved operational improvements on sales and profitability”, states Group CEO Thomas Stöcklin, adding that: “By deliberately and systematically forgoing discount-driven growth and strategically positioning CALIDA and AUBADE in the premium segment, the brands were strengthened in the long-term”. The two core brands contributed 203.1 million Swiss francs to group sales, while COSABELLA sales fell further meaning that this brand made a loss contribution in 2025.

Calida is on track to implement its strategy for increasing efficiency and efficacy. As part of this strategy, operational functions have been integrated into the brands, thereby reducing group functions and streamlining the executive management, as the textile group reports. In terms of the operating result, COSABELLA is expected to nearly break even in the current year.
