CΑΜPUS SURSEE seeks women for construction professions

Oberkirch - The third event organized by the CAMPUS SURSEE Foundation for a future in construction shaped by men and women alike is set to take place under the motto «We're building on you». The all-day event, which is scheduled for March 26, 2026, will aim to demonstrate that the future of construction is «diverse, collaborative and full of opportunities».

At CAMPUS SURSEE, the latest event in the «We’re building on…» series is set to take place on March 26, 2026 with the title «We’re building on you». This event is aimed at women, specifically female decision-makers working in the construction industry, seeking inspiration with regard to a collaborative future in the construction sector. Early bird tickets are available online.

In the context of the skilled worker shortage, the organizers are looking to open up different perspectives within the construction industry by exploring the following questions: How can a changed view of existing structures facilitate new solutions? What does diversity actually mean in the (construction) industry? And how can entrenched ways of thinking be broken down?

For example, the two architects Sandra Werneyer and Lea Ott from the architectural office werneyeer ott architektur will report that their roles as co-CEOs are manageable with a 60/60 workload. Caroline Farberger, a self-employed entrepreneur, independent board member and leadership expert, will launch a video message entitled «I am a businesswoman and a family man». Prof. Dr. Dörte Resch, who heads up the School of Applied Psychology at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, will be discussing the topic of profession branding and how simply depicting images of women in certain job roles does nothing to actually change the image of a profession.

A panel discussion with three participants is also being organized where three men – Olivier Imboden, CEO of Ulrich Imboden AG, Sven Stingelin, foreman at Frutiger AG Basel, and Thomas Weber, Walo Bertschinger's head of road construction Zurich from January 1, 2026 – will tackle the topic «Reducing the shortage of skilled workers through improved work-life balance». Finally, Lara Margiotta, as a career ambassador and «Carpenter on Tour», has been secured to present the profession of carpentry in conjunction with Ivan Tschopp, the owner and Managing Director of Tschopp Holzbau AG.
