Horw - The cantonal banks of Lucerne, Nidwalden, Obwalden, Schwyz, Uri and Zug have come together as the main sponsors of the *zünder accelerator program. The initiative launched by ITZ InnovationTransfer supports and connects startups in Central Switzerland.

The cantonal banks of Central Switzerland are keen to support companies and startups in the region. To this end, the cantonal banks of the cantons of Lucerne, Nidwalden, Obwalden, Schwyz, Uri and Zug have come together as the main sponsors of the *zünder accelerator program. Led by ITZ InnovationTransfer Central Switzerland, the program is “committed to high-level networking between all players in the startup arena to strengthen the community as a whole”, as was explained in a press release from the Central Swiss cantonal banks.

“With the cantonal banks of Central Switzerland, we have gained a key partner,” commented André Fischer, head of the *zünder program. “The strong regional roots and expertise of the cantonal banks provide an additional boost to the long-term development of *zünder.”

The “independent proactive orchestrator of the startup community of Central Switzerland” hopes to raise the success rate for startups through knowledge, experience and tools as well as offering them access to a strong network. To this end, the initiative runs an accelerator program each year, where selected startup projects are given the opportunity to receive coaching and support from mentors and experts for ten months. There are 40 startups taking part in the current accelerator program. This year’s program will conclude with the *zünder inspirience day on 17 November.
