CKW makes acquisition in the canton of Graubünden

Lucerne / Domat/Ems / Vella - CKW has agreed a takeover of Soller-Partner Electro SA. The company from the canton of Graubünden employs 32 staff and is active in planning, building and operating classic electrical installations. The former owner Robert Cavegn will continue to manage both company locations.

CKW is continuing its work to expand its photovoltaic capabilities and business in Eastern Switzerland. The utility company based in Lucerne in Central Switzerland has taken over Soller-Partner Electro SA with locations in Domat/Ems and Vella in the canton of Graubünden. According to a press release issued by CKW, the newly acquired company specializes in the installation of photovoltaic systems. It also plans, builds and operates classic electrical installations. Robert Cavegn, the previous owner, will continue to manage the two locations, while the 32 employees are set to be retained as well.

Cavegn believes that CKW is the perfect partner. “Together, we intend above all to drive forward the expansion of the photovoltaics business”, he explains in the press release.

Daniel Zbinden explains how the expansion of the photovoltaics business is contingent on customer proximity and anchoring in the local area. “With Soller-Partner Electro SA, we have not only acquired a company with an abundance of local character, but one which also boasts a proven track record in the area of photovoltaics and classic electrical installations”, as CKW’s Head of Photovoltaics and Heating comments in the press release.

CKW already installs around 700 photovoltaic systems per year. In April, it opened a first subsidiary in Eastern Switzerland based in Flums in the canton of St.Gallen.
