CKW opens new network training centre in Ebikon
Ebikon/LU - CKW has opened a new training centre for electrical network technicians in Ebikon. The new facility unites former training sites in Reussbühl, Sursee and Rathausen, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure for vocational training and continuing education across Central Switzerland.
Axpo subsidiary CKW has inaugurated a new, centrally located training centre for network technicians in Ebikon as the company annouces in a press release. The modern facility brings together the previous training sites in Reussbühl, Sursee and Rathausen, creating a single hub for inter-company courses and advanced training for network electricians from the cantons of Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden and Zug.
The centre features workshops for cable and metal work, classrooms for switching courses, and a training area with overhead line pylons. The new outdoor facility can be energised, allowing for realistic training scenarios such as troubleshooting in power networks.
«With our new network training centre, we can train and further educate network electricians in a modern and future-oriented way. The investment in Ebikon is crucial for this profession, which is affected by the shortage of skilled workers,» says Thomas Reithofer, Head of the Networks business unit at CKW.
The first courses have been held at the new site since mid-August. On Saturday, 25 October, CKW will officially open the training centre to the public with an open day. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors can gain insights into the training of network electricians, experience live demonstrations and try their hand at the climbing tower.
