Deep Breath Intelligence wins the *zünder award

Emmenbrücke/Rotkreuz/Horw - Deep Breath Intelligence has been named as the winner of the *zünder award at the conclusion of the *zünder accelerator program 2023. The public prize of the start-up program operated by the association ITZ InnovationsTransfer Zentralschweiz went to IRISgo.

The jury for the *zünder Startup Day has named Deep Breath Intelligence as the winner of its award. The start-up from Rotkreuz in the canton of Zug will now bank prize money of 15,000 Swiss francs. The presentation of the *zünder award marks the conclusion of the  *zünder accelerator program 2023, which serves the purpose of promoting innovative start-ups based in Central Switzerland. The program is operated by the association ITZ (InnovationsTransfer Zentralschweiz - a network for innovation transfer in Central Switzerland).

According to a press release issued by the ITZ, this year a total of 42 start-ups took part in the program. In addition to Deep Breath Intelligence, the six finalists for the Startup Day held in the Viscosistadt district of Emmenbrücke in the canton of Lucerne included Unica Coffee, a-mental, Alpamayo, eRevo and Leg&airy.

Deep Breath Intelligence develops non-invasive solutions for the early diagnosis of diseases and therapeutic drug monitoring. To this end, exhaled air is analyzed on the basis of machine learning algorithms. The first product from the Rotkreuz-based start-up is DBI-EPIbreath, an epilepsy test that also monitors drug levels in the bloodstream.

The public prize went to the start-up IRISgo from Horw in the canton of Lucerne. The innovative closing lid of the company’s eponymous reusable cup is reminiscent of the aperture of a camera and helps to make separate lids a thing of the past. The start-up, which is currently in the growth phase, recently gained Coop City stores as a sales partner. The prize money of 10,000 Swiss francs comes in the form of half cash and half in services supplied by business consultancy and award sponsor EY.

Together with the start-ups Mister Beam and Alligator, IRISgo will be appearing on the opening episode of the first season of the new TV show «*Startup zünder – Abenteuer Selbstständigkeit», which will be broadcast in the new year at 19.55 on the evening of February 2 on the German-language channel SAT1 Switzerland. After this, three new start-ups will be showcased in each episode on a weekly basis.
