Emmi Group moves to unify its desserts business

Lucerne - The Emmi Group is consolidating its global dessert business under the Emmi Desserts brand. The premium desserts range ‘better for you’ will form the core of the brand. The group views the premium dessert business as a strategic growth driver. In this context, the company is committed to sustainability and responsible business practices.

The Emmi Group has launched Emmi Desserts as a unified name for its global desserts business. According to a statement covering the new brand identity, the ‘better for you’ desserts range will serve as the strategic core of the brand for premium desserts. With this unified identity, the Lucerne-based manufacturer of dairy products is reportedly combining “local dessert traditions and innovative concepts”. Didier Boudy, Executive Vice President of Emmi Desserts, is seeking to establish Emmi Desserts as “the partner of choice, pioneering the future of ‘better for you’ desserts around the world”.

Emmi sees premium desserts as a strategic growth driver supported by the megatrend of indulgence and the increasing demand for high-quality, innovative desserts, as the company writes. Emmi Desserts is gradually bringing its organization into line with sustainability principles. This is inspired by the B Corp certification and the nutritional charter of the French Mademoiselle Desserts Group, which Emmi acquired in 2024.

Emmi started to develop this segment in 2011 following its entry into the Italian market. This was followed in 2020 by the acquisition of the US firm Indulge Desserts, then Mademoiselle Desserts, and finally The English Cheesecake Company in 2025. Emmi Desserts now operates 20 production sites in France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK and the USA. It is responsible for a 17 percent share of group revenues.

“Emmi Desserts is built on something simple but powerful: bringing the craft and care of local dessert traditions to the world at scale”, comments Ricarda Demarmels, CEO of the Emmi Group, before adding: “This new identity reflects our ambition to raise the standard of premium desserts. We aim to lead this category – through quality, innovation, and responsibility at our core”.
