Emmi grows in strategically key markets

Lucerne - Emmi generated slightly higher sales in 2023 than in the previous year, with a total of 4.242 billion Swiss francs. Organic growth amounted to 3.5 per cent. The Lucerne-based milk processor made gains in strategically important markets such as Americas and Switzerland.

Emmi increased its sales by 0.3 per cent to 4.242 billion Swiss francs in 2023, announced a statement. Adjusted for currency and acquisition effects, this amounts to organic growth of 3.5 per cent. The Lucerne-based milk processor has grown in line with its strategic priorities. In terms of regions, these include the business division Americas and Switzerland. The Americas region, which includes the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Tunisia and Spain, grew organically by 5.7 per cent. Emmi is particularly pleased with the growth in Chile, Mexico, Spain and Brazil. In Switzerland, organic growth amounted to 3.8 per cent. Emmi suffered a decline in the business division Europe, which shrank organically by 0.4 per cent. The Global Trade business division also recorded an organic decline of 5.7 per cent.

In terms of products, cheese specialties were the biggest growth driver in the Americas region. Emmi generated sales of around 635 million Swiss francs with cheese products. In Switzerland, dairy products generated the highest sales at around 688 million francs. According to Emmi, the strategic niches Emmi Caffè Latte and chilled premium desserts also performed well overall. They proved to be growth drivers, particularly in the US.
