Emmi increases sales and operating result
Lucerne - Dairy processor Emmi has increased its sales by 2.2 percent to 2.3 billion Swiss francs in the first half of 2026 and is making a slight adjustment to its guidance for the full year. The operating result has also risen to 152.3 million Swiss francs.
According to a statement, Emmi generated Group sales of 2.32 billion Swiss francs in the first half of 2026. This represents an increase of 2.2 percent compared with the same period last year. Organic growth stood at 3.6 percent, whilst acquisition effects accounted for +0.7 percent and currency effects for -2.1 percent. The Lucerne-based company has revised its full-year guidance in terms of sales and now expects organic growth of between 2 and 3 percent (previously 1 to 3 percent).
Emmi increased its operating result (EBIT – earnings before interest and tax) by 4.8 percent from 145.4 million Swiss francs to 152.3 million Swiss francs, and its net profit by 3.7 percent from 97.2 million Swiss francs to 100.9 million Swiss francs.
«The positive growth momentum of recent years continued in the first half of the year,» CEO Ricarda Demarmels is quoted as saying in the press release. «The strong volume growth is particularly pleasing, reflecting the relevance of our portfolio and the consistent implementation of our strategy in collaboration with our customers and partners. At the same time, we made further progress in terms of profitability, return on invested capital and cash conversion.»
Across the various markets, the Global Trade division achieved sales growth of 8.5 percent to 69.1 million Swiss francs. The Switzerland division recorded growth of 3.6 percent to 903.3 million Swiss francs, whilst the Europe division grew by 3 percent to sales of 498.3 million Swiss francs. By contrast, the Americas division saw a decline of 0.1 percent to 852.8 million Swiss francs. Emmi points to «significant growth momentum» from the growth markets of Chile, Brazil and Mexico as well as Spain and Tunisia. However, the US market «fell short of expectations».
