Root/Freiburg i.Br. - Etanox AG has become a member of Technopark Lucerne in Root in the Swiss canton of Lucerne. The startup, which was founded in Freiburg im Breisgau in Germany, aims to revolutionize vehicle propulsion in space with its new technology: a non-toxic chemical energy carrier.
Etanox AG has become a new member of Technopark Lucerne, announced a statement. Founded in Freiburg im Breisgau in 2024 as Etanox Engineering GmbH, the company has set out to revolutionize the propulsion systems of satellites and other vehicles in space. Specifically, it says it has developed a non-toxic chemical energy carrier, which enables lighter engines with greater power than electric motors.
With its new presence in Root, the company now aims to strengthen its position in the Swiss space industry network, benefiting too from the proximity to first-class universities. «Technopark Lucerne is the perfect place to advance our technology and expand our network in the Swiss high-tech landscape», Philipp Becker, Co-founder and CEO, is quoted as saying. «We are consolidating our activities in sustainable satellite propulsion here and preparing for the next stage of our growth.»
Aldo Lamberti welcomed Etanox, underscoring the dynamic space cluster that has flourished in Root. «Your pioneering work in the field of advanced space propulsion embodies precisely the spirit of innovation and impact that we promote at Technopark Lucerne,» said the Director of Technopark Lucerne.
For Ivan Buck, Director of the economic development agency Lucerne Business, the move emphasizes the canton of Lucerne’s attractiveness for forward-looking high-tech companies. «We are proud that Etanox has chosen Lucerne as the base for its next phase of growth», he said.
