F. Borner AG to become part of the Pfiffner Group
Reiden/Hirschthal - F. Borner AG is set to be merged into the Pfiffner Group at the beginning of October as part of a succession plan. The Reiden-based energy technology company will complement Pfiffner’s portfolio for transmission and distribution networks. Borner will continue to operate as an independent subsidiary within the group.
F. Borner AG, an energy technology company based in Reiden in the Swiss canton of Lucerne, which specializes in distribution networks, is set to become a member of the Pfiffner Group. It will be integrated as an independent subsidiary into the Aargau-based group for electrical energy distribution infrastructure solutions at the beginning of October, as detailed in a statement jointly issued by the two partner firms. «With their robust distribution network solutions, BORNER’s products pair perfectly with the Pfiffner Group’s portfolio», comments Marcel Rüfenacht, CEO of the Pfiffner Group, in the statement, adding that: «Our combined expertise in the field of electrical engineering also strengthens our position as an attractive employer for skilled workers».
Borner made the decision to join the Pfiffner Group as part of a long-planned succession arrangement, the statement explains. No details regarding the purchase price have been disclosed. In terms of shared values, the two family-owned companies point to long-term thinking, a high level of technical expertise and a partnership-based approach to dealing with customers and employees alike.
Borner was founded in 1977 and currently employs around 200 staff. The Pfiffner Group, which dates back to 1927, is globally active with four brands and approximately 1,200 employees at present.
