Geistlich Pharma acquires Italian firm Meta Technologies

Wolhusen LU/Schlieren ZH - Geistlich Pharma is acquiring the medical technology division of C.G.M. S.p.A. The Lucerne-based subsidiary of the Geistlich group, which in turn is based in Schlieren in the canton of Zurich, has already been working with Meta Technologies for years. The acquisition aims to strengthen the business area of regeneration.

According to a press release from Geistlich Pharma, the Lucerne-based subsidiary of the Geistlich group, itself based in Schlieren in the canton of Zurich, the company has already been working successfully with the Italian firm Meta Technologies for years. Now Geistlich Pharma will take over the medical technology company, which is part of CompuGroup Medical (C.G.M. S.p.A.). No indication of the purchase price is given in the press release.

The press release states: “With the acquisition of Meta Technologies S.r.l., Geistlich Pharma brings together what has been an excellent match for years.” It specifically mentions Meta Bone Scrapers and the Geistlich Pharma biomaterials Bio-Oss and Bio-Gide in connection with this. These are used together for oral regeneration work. Geistlich had also distributed Meta products in numerous market regions before the acquisition.

Meta Technologies will continue with its own business relationships independently under the umbrella of Geistlich Pharma. General Manager Corrado Saverio Parmigiani will continue to lead the skilled workforce of Meta Technologies. All 15 employees at Meta Technologies will also be taken on.
