Government extend funding for Technopark Luzern

Lucerne/Root - The canton of Lucerne is renewing its service agreement with Technopark Luzern. Thanks to the agreement, the Technopark, which was founded in 2003, will receive CHF 200'000 per year until 2027. Half of the amount will be paid by the Swiss government and half by the canton.

Technopark Luzern will continue to receive funding from the Swiss government's New Regional Policy (NRP) for the four years up to 2027. The Lucerne cantonal government has renewed the necessary performance agreement with the Technopark, according to a statement. The Technopark is an important player in the canton's innovation sector, specializing in promoting startups, particularly in the growth phase. It has created over 40 jobs in recent years, writes the statement. 

Technopark Luzern in Root in the canton of Lucerne was founded in 2003 and is set up as an association. The Swiss government, the canton and private partners jointly fund the association. The NRP funds currently total CHF 200'000 per year, half of which is financed by the Swiss government and half by the canton.

The Technopark is located in the D4 Business Village in Root. It is currently home to some 30 companies employing over 100 people. In 2022, the association founded the Venture Club Central Switzerland.
