Great cooperation brings great innovation
From optionally-piloted aircraft to solar-powered aircraft to passenger air vehicle prototypes, we are seeing a lot of sophisticated autonomous vehicle technologies being developed by Virginia-based, Boeing subsidiary Aurora Flight Sciences.
Recently, we got a hands-on view of these aircraft combining the best of manned, unmanned and augmented flight technologies. Earlier this month, together with Per Beith, CEO and Tom Clancy, CTO of Aurora Flight Sciences, we [Lucerne Business] were joined by Swiss Ambassador Jacques Pitteloud (and Swiss embassy officials in Washington, DC USA) for an engaging site visit to Aurora Flight Science’s USA headquarters. Our Swiss delegation was thrilled to see and touch the vehicles and crafts that Aurora’s subsidiary in Canton Lucerne (Aurora Swiss Aerospace) has been significantly contributing towards over the past years. Boeing subsidiary Aurora Flight Sciences (est. 1989) has its US headquarters in Manassas, Virginia (CEO Per Beith) and its European subsidiary Aurora Swiss Aerospace (est. 2013), in Lucerne, Switzerland (General Manager, Tim Dawson-Townsend).
