HAUS der DÜFTE: Lucerne Fragrance Concept Takes the Stage in Germany

Lucerne - Rolf Stehr, founder of HAUS der DÜFTE in Lucerne, has been invited to speak at the 69th Parfümerietagung in Düsseldorf on 27 September 2026. His talk addresses how brick-and-mortar specialty retail can stay relevant amid online competition and growing price transparency.

What began in autumn 2025 as a temporary fragrance concept in Lucerne has since grown into a permanent address for niche perfumes. HAUS der DÜFTE is backed by STEHR Cosmetics AG, headquartered in Adligenswil, which operates in B2B distribution. Rather than offering a broad selection, HAUS der DÜFTE focuses on a curated range and personal advice. Founder Rolf Stehr is now bringing this experience to the 69th Parfümerietagung, one of the leading industry events for the German perfumery trade.

In his talk, titled «Discount und Rabatte im Internet – Was tun!? Neu denken!» («Online Discounts and Deals – What Now? Time to Rethink»), Stehr explores how specialty retail can hold its ground when products are available online almost everywhere and prices can be compared within seconds. In his view, the real challenge isn't online discounting itself, but interchangeability: when the same products are sold everywhere, price inevitably becomes a key differentiator. The strength of brick-and-mortar retail, he argues, lies instead in personal advice and in-store experience.

This shift is also changing the role of sales staff — moving away from simple product handover toward curation across a growing range of options, paired with greater investment in staff training and product knowledge.

The 69th Parfümerietagung takes place on 27 September 2026 in Düsseldorf, organised by Gesellschaft für Marketing & Betriebsberatung mbH, the promotional arm of the Bundesverband Parfümerien e.V.
