Helvero eHealth Group acquires Compass IT
Lucerne/Basel - The Helvero eHealth Group from Lucerne has acquired the Basel-based Compass IT AG, which specializes in the healthcare sector. With Compass IT’s products, Helvero intends to build an AI-supported operational infrastructure for medical practices.
At the end of June, the Lucerne-based Leutchter IT Solutions AG founded the Helvero eHealth Group AG, also based in Lucerne, with business partners Simon Meier and Jean Luc Zehnder. However, Helvero, a new company specializing in digital products for outpatient healthcare, has already announced its first acquisition: With retroactive effect from July 1 and as part of a succession arrangement, the company has acquired all shares in Compass Information Technologie AG (Compass IT), as detailed in a statement. The Basel-based firm, which specializes in the healthcare sector, developed the medical practice information system ePaad and the health data platform Secure2Go.
As part of the takeover, Compass IT founder Nicolas Schweizer is stepping down from the company’s management team. Simon Meier, co-founder and board member of the Helvero eHealth Group, has been appointed as the new CEO. The new owner intends to leverage Compass IT’s products in an effort to develop an operational infrastructure powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) that can be used in medical practices across Switzerland.
The new CEO pays tribute to the “strong foundations and loyal customers” of his company. “We will strategically expand ePaad and Secure2Go, in addition to modernizing the company at a technological level”, Meier explains in the statement, before adding: “AI will be used where it offers genuine added value”.
