Hotelfachschule Luzern takes top spot in educational rankings

Lucerne - The comparison platform eduwo has published the results of this years educational rankings. The Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern has been voted as the best institution of higher vocational training, with one of its courses voted the best of its kind as well.
Just under 6,000 students took part in this years educational rankings to decide the best universities, as revealed in a press release issued by eduwo. The Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern (SHL), a hotel management school, has been named best institution of higher vocational training. The factors of lecturer/teacher, facilities, organization, educational framework/setting and course content, in addition to the recommendation rate, were used for the assessment.
In addition, votes were taken to decide the best individual degree programs for the first time. In the category of HF study program, SHL came out on top for its Dipl. Hôtelière-Restauratrice/Hôtelier-Restaurateur HF.
The University of Liechtenstein and University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil (HSR) also both celebrated a double. The former was named best university, with the prize for the best Master degree program also heading to Liechtenstein for the Master in Entrepreneurship and Management at the University of Liechtenstein. HSR was named as the best university of applied sciences, while its Computer Science degree was voted the best Bachelor program. The Unterstrass Institute at the Zurich University of Teacher Education (PHZH) was voted as the best teacher training college.
In terms of the most popular fields of study, art, music and design attained the best average score of 4.28, while technology enjoyed the highest recommendation rate of 96.4 percent.
The platform eduwo makes experience reports available to future students based on responses from both current students and alumni. With authentic experience reports from current and former students, eduwo is making the search easier for prospective students, while at the same time minimizing the number of drop outs, comments Raphel Tobler, Co-Founder of the Winterthur-based start-up.
