Leuchter IT Solutions makes fresh start in Emmenbrücke after relocation

Emmen - The IT firm Leuchter has relocated from Lucerne to Emmenbrücke. The company itself renovated the two floors in the former Viscosistadt industrial complex for its 110 employees. Next year, the majority of the company’s shares will be transferred to its employees.

Leuchter IT Solutions AG has moved into its new headquarters in Emmenbrücke, a district of Emmen in the canton of Lucerne. For the past 60 years, the company specializing in business digitization had been based on Winkelriedstrasse in Lucerne. However, the building was in need of renovation and Leuchter IT Solutions’ lease was terminated.

In Emmenbrücke, Daniel Jäggli’s company found a property in Viscosistadt that also features a rooftop terrace and ample parking. In an article in the Luzerner Zeitung newspaper, Jäggli explains that the municipality of Emmen and Lucerne’s economic development agency, Lucerne Business were helpful during the relocation process: «The authorities provided us with excellent support. The building permit was issued within five weeks.»

The company itself renovated and converted the two floors of the building, which is located on the approximately 90,000 square meter former industrial site. The office space is designed to accommodate the current workforce of about 110 employees. «Should we continue to grow, we’ll introduce desk sharing,» said Jäggli.

Now aged 65, Jäggli joined the company as a teenager in 1976 and took it over less than a decade later. Next year, the current Chairman of the Board of the parent holding company will transfer the majority stake to the employees. He and the wife of former co-owner Marco Conconi will retain a small minority stake. Jäggli plans to continue «overseeing one or two projects» in the future as a «regular Board member».
