Linde acquires welding technology business of Hebutec AG
Dagmersellen/Wil - Linde Gas Schweiz AG from the canton of Lucerne has taken over the welding technology division of Hebutec AG. This deal has led to the creation of a new entity, which is being managed as an independent company within the Linde Gas & More franchise ecosystem. The aim is to expand the company’s market position.
Linde Gas Schweiz AG has taken over the welding technology division of Hebutec AG, which is based in Wil in the Swiss canton of St.Gallen. Since January 1, 2026, the newly created entity has been operating as an independent company under the name Linde Gas & More as part of Linde Gas & More franchise ecosystem, according to a statement issued by the company. Patrick Eichmann, who has been appointed Managing Director, manages the local business operations with a team of two.
According to the statement, with this acquisition Linde is seeking to strengthen its market position in the welding technology and gas distribution markets in Switzerland, in addition to increasing its presence across the region. The integration is to be implemented gradually so as to ensure continuity and the seamless transition of business processes.
By bundling their expertise, the two companies are creating an “optimal platform” with the aim of offering customers even more efficient solutions. “The combination of Hebutec’s long-standing expertise with our own experience and innovative strength ensures even more comprehensive support for our customers”, comments Stephan Fässler, Head of Sales Retail at Linde Gas Schweiz AG.
The takeover will reportedly offer “clear added value” to existing customers of Hebutec. In future, they will have access to the full product and solutions portfolio of the specialist dealer for welding technology and accessories in combination with the services of Linde Gas & More.
