LU Couture arranging 8th Fashion Day in Emmen
Willisau/Emmen - LU Couture is organizing the 8th Fashion Day at Le Théâtre in Emmen. On October 11, the fashion school will present two fashion shows to highlight designs from the LU Couture studio. Accompanied by musical entertainment, a special exhibition will also provide insights into 150 years of fashion history.
LU Couture is preparing for its Fashion Day on October 11. The motto for this year’s event at Le Théâtre in Emmen in the Swiss canton of Lucerne is «In the name of fashion, but sustainable».
Together with its partners and exhibitors, the fashion school is presenting a program of events that will culminate in two fashion shows. At 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., models will showcase the designs developed at the LU Couture studio, with each runway show lasting for 90 minutes. Kurt «Aeschbi» Aeschbacher will host these shows, during which a three-minute short film entitled «Transformation Mode» will be played. This was produced by the Zurich-based filmmaker Emanuel Bohnenblust, who is a graduate of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
A supporting program of musical highlights will feature performances by the tenor Erkan Aki and the pop-jazz singer Rahel Tarell, as well as Musical Factory Lucerne. The special exhibition by modesammlung.ch, which is to be housed in the foyer area, will offer visitors insights into 150 years of fashion history. In addition to the fashion school itself, several companies will also be exhibiting here, including Bianca Sissing Mode, Helvesko, Wieland, Pack Easy, Scabal and Realsmart Immo.
As LU Couture outlines in its event overview, the fashion event is being financed exclusively on the back of the tickets sold and sponsorship money. All proceeds are to be put towards supporting its own training program. Tickets for the afternoon and evening fashion shows, which are identical, can be purchased via Eventim.
LU Couture is a Lucerne-based fashion school with locations in Lucerne and Willisau. In a proprietary teaching workshop, ten to twelve talented, young fashion designers spend three years working towards attaining a Swiss Federal Proficiency Certificate as a qualified clothes designer.
