Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts: Continuing education in circular economy

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) is expanding its continuing education program with a new CAS in regional circular economy. Starting at the end of January 2026, specialists and managers will be able to acquire the knowledge they need to develop and implement circular economic models at the regional level.

Lucerne - From the end of January 2026, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts will be offering a new professional development course in the form of a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) Circular Economy in Regions. The new, seven-month CAS program is designed for "technical experts and executives from administration, business, planning, education and civil society, who wish to implement and further develop the circular economy on a local level", as HSLU explains in the program description. The CAS program aims to provide them with the necessary knowledge based on scientific principles and practical examples.

Participants will be introduced to the fundamental aspects and models of the circular economy, as well as gaining an insight into the opportunities for designing circular material flows and products. An additional focus will be placed on the role played by politics, business, education and society in the implementation of circular models. Furthermore, participants enrolled in the course will learn how to leverage regional networks as a driver for circular models as well as how to advance the transformation towards a circular economy in their own region.

HSLU has organized a trio of virtual info events on the CAS Circular Economy in Regions program:
Thursday, September 11 ¦ Wednesday, October 15 ¦ Tuesday, November 11

The registration deadline for the new study course is November 30, 2025.
