MSD Switzerland supports the Lucerne City Run 2026
Lucerne - MSD Merck Sharp & Dohme AG distinguished itself as an overall sponsor of this year’s Lucerne City Run, reaffirming its commitment to promoting health in the local community. In this way, the biopharmaceutical company enabled 1,100 children from local elementary schools to take part in the race free of charge.
The Lucerne-based firm MSD Merck Sharp & Dohme AG, a subsidiary of the North American company Merck & Co., Inc, has supported the 48th Lucerne City Run as a sponsor of the event. This year’s edition took place on April 25, 2026, with more than 15,000 running enthusiasts taking part over courses ranging from 630 meters in length to just under 7 kilometers. As part of its sponsorship of the event, MSD enabled 1,100 children from local elementary schools to participate free of charge, as detailed in a statement. According to the biopharmaceutical company, this commitment reaffirms its support for the local community and focus on promoting healthy lifestyles.
The new headquarters in the Rösslimatt district of Lucerne, which the company recently moved into, are also expected to play a part in rooting MSD in Central Switzerland. As the company writes in the statement, in this way MSD is underlining its long-term commitment to Central Switzerland – not only as an employer, but also as an active part of the local community.
