NRG Solutions supplies battery storage system to SABAG Luzern
Rain/Rothenburg - NRG Solutions AG is supplying a battery storage system for SABAG Luzern AG. The storage system is designed to stabilize the grid, integrate photovoltaics and electric vehicles, and optimize self-consumption. It is the first in Europe from the supplier Brunstock, is a subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based firm TGOOD Global.
The construction supplier SABAG Luzern is developing a smart energy storage system at its site in Rothenburg in the canton of Lucerne. To this end, NRG Solutions AG, which is headquartered in Rain in the same canton, has supplied a battery storage system with an output of 3.45 megawatts and a storage capacity of 5 megawatt hours, as detailed in a statement.
In the first phase, the storage system will provide system services aimed at stabilizing the electricity grid. In a second phase, the focus will be on integrating both a photovoltaic system and the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The system is also designed for the optimization of self-consumption.
WWZ AG from Zug is responsible for integrating the storage system into the grid, in addition to managing and commercializing it.
This storage system is the first from the supplier Brunstock in Europe. Brunstock is headquartered in Dübendorf in the canton of Zurich and is a subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based firm TGOOD Global.
Marco Schiavini believes that the project will bring several benefits. “With the battery storage system from NRG Solutions, we contribute to stabilizing the energy system while at the same time leveraging new economic potential”, as the CEO of SABAG Luzern AG explains in the statement. Further down the line, the partners intend to test another battery storage system at the Rothenburg site.
