Renggli expands in Germany

Sursee/LU / Eberswalde - Renggli Deutschland GmbH is building a wooden module factory in Eberswalde near to Berlin. The joint venture between Renggli and three German partners plans to manufacture modules for multistorey buildings at this site. Construction is expected to start in Fall 2022.

According to a press release from Renggli AG, Renggli Deutschland GmbH plans to build “Germany’s largest wooden module factory for constructing multistorey buildings” in Eberswalde in the German state of Brandenburg. The German subsidiary of the timber construction and general company based in Sursee and Schötz in the Swiss canton of Lucerne is a joint venture between Renggli AG and the German partner companies Saxovent Smart Eco Investments GmbH, Sächsische Ärzteversorgung, and MQ Real Estate GmbH. Construction is expected to start in the third quarter of 2022, with production to follow in 2024.

Samuel Renggli, Technical Project Consultant at Renggli AG in Schötz, states in the press release: “We hope to serve the great demand for wooden building capacities in the Berlin/Brandenburg area, thereby providing a significant contribution to resource-sparing, climate-neutral construction. With the capacity of this modern production facility, we will achieve high standards for quality, efficiency, and reliability.”

Expansion into Germany represents a consistent strategic continuation of Renggli AG’s activities in Germany. However, the company writes that this will not affect its engagement in Switzerland. Production of elements and modules for climate-conscious buildings will continue at the Schötz site. Furthermore, Renggli plans to invest in the digitization and further development of the company at the Swiss locations as planned.
