The timber construction specialist Renggli AG has developed a hybrid modular construction system for apartment blocks with Bern University of Applied Sciences and AXA. The ecological and low-priced system won the award for the most attractive real estate investment idea at the NZZ Real Estate Days.

The hybrid modular construction system developed by Renggli AG in collaboration with Bern University of Applied Sciences and AXA is “an answer to the demand for low-cost and ecological living space”, writes the specialist for energy-efficient timber construction from Sursee LU in the corresponding press release.

The principle of the construction system is based on apartments in the form of individual space modules which are completely prefabricated in the factory. Bathrooms, kitchens, doors, windows and all the electrical installations are already integrated in the module. These modules then just have to be inserted into the steel framework on site.
The hybrid construction system was implemented for the first time at Lenzburg AG. An apartment block with 20 flats was completed within five months in the HELLO Lenzburg project, explains Renggli AG. The affordable and comfortable apartments also meet the Minergie A Standard.

At this year’s NZZ Real Estate Days on 31 October the HELLO Lenzburg project won the award for the most attractive real estate investment idea. The hybrid modular construction system was chosen as the winner by conference participants based on an audience vote.
