Emmen LUCERNE - RUAG Aerostructures will continue its role as component supplier for the Airbus A320 family. The companyhas signed an agreement to extend its collaboration with Airbus for the next six years.

RUAG Aerostructures has already manufactured components for more than 9,000 airplanes of the Airbus A320 family at its locations in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, Emmen in Lucerne and Cheb in the Czech Republic. The Swiss based company, a division of RUAG International, has now agreed a continuation of its collaboration with Airbus. As revealed in a press release issued by RUAG International, the new agreement stipulates that RUAG will manufacture and supply rear center sections as well as the flooring and side shells of the central fuselage sections.

For Dirk Prehn, Executive Vice President of RUAG Aerostructures the agreement pays testament to the company’s high level of manufacturing expertise in the field of aeronautical structural engineering. Securing the supply contract for the A320 family represents a major cornerstone in the implementation of the corporate strategy pursued by RUAG Aerostructures, as Prehn explains in the press release: “By developing new product and manufacturing technologies and systematically implementing the best cost strategy, the company positions itself as a specialist in the development, production and final assembly of complete fuselage sections for civilian and military aircraft”.
