Schindler and Accor cooperate in Asia
Ebikon/Issy-les-Moulineaux/Hong Kong - The global hotel group Accor has commissioned Schindler to supply and maintain elevators and escalators in nine Asian markets. Schindler will tailor the systems to Accor's specific requirements.
The Schindler Group and Accor have signed a service agreement in Asia, according to a statement from Schindler. The globally active mobility solutions group from Ebikon in the Swiss canton of Lucerne is to supply elevators, escalators, and moving walkways for Accor properties in Singapore, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The agreement also covers the modernization, maintenance, and servicing of these systems.
«We see great potential in this collaboration and look forward to working closely with Schindler to meet the needs of our guests in our hotels,» Sébastien Brunel, Senior Vice President of Procurement Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific at Accor, is quoted as saying.
Schindler will tailor the elevators, escalators, and moving walkways to meet the global hotel group’s specific requirements, with the two partner companies planning to work closely together and coordinate at an early stage. «This agreement provides a solid foundation for expanding our cooperation with Accor in the region,» Calynn Tan, Chief Executive Officer of the Jardine Schindler Group (JSG), is quoted as saying. «JSG aims to be a trusted partner to Accor, providing state-of-the-art transportation equipment and comprehensive maintenance services.»
The Jardine Schindler Group is headquartered in Hong Kong and was founded in 1974 as a joint venture between Jardine Matheson in Hong Kong and Schindler in Ebikon.
