Schindler awarded maintenance contract in Miami

Ebikon/Miami - Schindler has been awarded a five-year maintenance contract for Miami International Airport and Miami-Dade Transit’s Metromover system. It is estimated that the contract will be worth $12 million per year.

Schindler has been awarded a new public transit maintenance contract in the U.S. The company will take over maintenance of lifts, escalators and moving walkways at Miami International Airport and and across Miami-Dade Transit’s Metromover system for an initial five-year term. This infrastructure is used by 60 million passengers each year. As the company explains, Miami-Dade County has the option to extend the contract by another five years.

This new contract expands Schindler’s portfolio in Miami-Dade County, adding hundreds of airport and transit conveyances.

Negotiations on the order volume are currently in progress, but the company is anticipating a contract value of $12 million per year.
