Schindler lifts in 51-floor building in Singapore

Ebikon/Singapore - Schindler in the canton of Lucerne has equipped the new CapitaSpring skyscraper in Singapore with its latest innovations in vertical mobility. This includes 25 lifts featuring the time and energy-saving PORT technology, which enables the integration of facial recognition, robotics and digital maintenance.

A new building located in Singapore’s financial district is being equipped with 25 lifts from Schindler. The CapitaSpring skyscraper in Singapore is 51 floors high and comprises offices, gardens, bars and restaurants as well as fully furnished serviced apartments. It was designed by the Bjarke Ingels Group in collaboration with Carlo Ratti Associati.

Thanks to Schindler’s PORT technology, the entire CapitaSpring skyscraper will benefit from QR code turnstiles for a touchless user experience, as was outlined in a press release. The transit management solution also optimizes travel time in the building. In addition, autonomous cleaning robots connect to the building’s lifts and turnstile systems.

Schinder PORT will make the building more ecofriendly. Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority awarded CapitaSpring the Green Mark Platinum Award, one of the highest sustainability accolades that can be achieved in Singapore.

This is an “exciting project” for Schindler, explained Robert Seakins, responsible for Asia-Pacific on Schindler’s Group Executive Committee, because Singapore is “a place where the sustainability of existing and new buildings has become a top priority. Schindler technology is a key contributor to the seamless, efficient, and safe movement of people throughout this landmark building”.
