Schurter acquires majority stake in Biaodi
Lucerne/Wuhan - Schurter has acquired a majority stake in the Chinese firm Biaodi. With this deal, the manufacturer of electrical components is seeking to expand its portfolio in the field of high-voltage circuit protection solutions.
Schurter, the Lucerne-based global manufacturer of electrical components, has acquired a majority stake in the Chinese company Biaodi, which is headquartered in the city of Wuhan. With this deal, Schurter intends to expand its offering in the area of high-voltage circuit protection solutions, as detailed in a company statement.
Biaodi develops high-voltage protection solutions for electric vehicles and new energy applications. The fuses developed and manufactured by the company, operating in a voltage range of 250-2,000 volts and with current ratings of between 1 and 4,000 amps, are used in electric vehicles, electric ships, rail transport, charging stations, solar power plants, wind turbines and energy storage systems.
